Heather & Brandon

The Bride

It was the day of Mark and Katie Perryman’s wedding. I was attending solo, unsure if I was going to know anyone and where I would be sitting. I am quite the social butterfly, so I knew neither of these concerns would be too much of a problem.

To my delight, I was placed at the singles table. One of Mark’s groomsmen was sitting directly across from me, he was talkative, funny, and gave me a lot of attention. I was shocked to see a catch like him at the singles table. Although I denied him when he asked me to dance, I was eager to give him my phone number to see how this adventure would play out. Fast forward 2 weeks later and multiple persuading conversations, I agreed to go on a date with Brandon.

The Groom

When I first met Heather, she was sitting across from me at the single's table of the Perryman Wedding. She looked like a stone-cold fox and I knew right there and then, I had to get her number and take my chances wooing this girl that is clearly out of my league.

Somehow, I was able to charm her enough to exchange numbers. I added my number to her phone with the nickname "Super Hot Web Developer / Guy I date for a little while / Future Husband" having no idea that this was the girl I was going to marry. Maybe I subconsciously knew this girl was special.

Our love story

First time we met

Heather and Brandon met at the single's table of the Mark & Katie Perryman Wedding on September 18, 2016. Brandon happened to be sitting next to his close friend Evan, the same Evan that is marrying us today.

Our First Dates

Date #1

Our first date, well, wasn't the best. Brandon thought it went great... Heather, not so much. I guess Brandon talked too much about himself. Luckily, Heather gave Brandon a second chance with date number two.

Date #2

This is the date that Heather secretly fell for Brandon. Brandon took Heather to sushi (to make sure she passed the "likes sushi" test) and then mini golfing. During mini golf, we gave each other nicknames. Heather was Koala and Brandon was Bear. We still use our nicknames today and even call our home the Koala Bear Habitat. And if you are wondering, Brandon didn't talk about himself as much, he instead asked more questions about Heather winning some Koala points in the dating game.

We fell in love shortly after, became best friends, and have been inseparable ever since.

Proposal

Our 2.5 year anniversary happened to fall on April 1st aka April Fools Day. We both decided to take the day off from work and go on a hike in Pacific Palisades called Los Liones. It just so happened that our friend, Trevor, was in town with his camera equipment. Trevor helped document the entire day making up an excuse that he wanted to test out some new camera setting. At the top of the hike, Brandon got down on one knee, completely forgot what he was going to say and asked Heather to marry him.

She said yes!

Engagement

To be honest, engaged life is not much different than dating. The only changes are that Heather spends a lot of time cleaning her new ring and we have been figuring out the details of our wedding together. We are really excited for our future together and celebrating our wedding with our friends and family.

Ring

“ We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love. ”
